Ductless Mini-Split Installation

We install ductless mini-split systems in homes across Florida, for rooms that never get comfortable and additions that no duct ever reached. A mini-split pairs an outdoor condenser with one or more wall or ceiling heads, connected by a small line set through the exterior wall. Homeowners call us for garage conversions, sunrooms, second-floor bedrooms, and older houses with no ductwork at all. If a room stays hot while the rest of the house is fine, call us and we will walk the space with you.

What the installation involves

We start by measuring the room and confirming where the indoor head can go so air reaches the whole space, not just the wall in front of it. Then we set the outdoor unit on a pad or bracket, drill a small penetration for the line set and condensate drain, and run electrical to a dedicated circuit. Refrigerant lines get pulled into a vacuum before charging. Most single-zone jobs finish in a day, multi-zone systems take longer depending on line runs.

What we check and install

Before anything gets mounted we check the electrical panel for available capacity, since a mini-split needs its own circuit. We look at wall construction, exterior clearance for the condenser, and where condensate can drain by gravity instead of a pump. On coastal properties we pay attention to salt exposure and mounting height. After startup we verify airflow at the head, refrigerant charge, drain flow, and that the remote or wall control is talking to the unit properly.

How we decide a mini-split is the right call

A mini-split makes sense when adding ductwork is impractical or when one area needs its own control. Converted garages, enclosed porches, attic bedrooms, and detached offices are common fits. If your existing central system is sized correctly and the ducts are sound, extending or repairing that system is often the better answer, and we will tell you so. We measure the room's heat load rather than guessing at BTU capacity, because an oversized head short-cycles and leaves humidity behind.

Ductless Mini-Split Installation — quick answers

Can one outdoor unit run more than one indoor head?

Yes. Multi-zone systems support several heads on one condenser, each with its own control. The limit depends on the condenser capacity and line run lengths, so we confirm the layout before ordering equipment.

Does a mini-split provide heat too?

Most do. They run as heat pumps and reverse operation to warm the room, which handles Florida cold snaps well. We confirm the specific model's heating capability during the walkthrough.

How much wall space does the indoor head need?

A typical wall head needs clear space near the ceiling, with room above and to the sides for airflow and service access. We mark the exact spot on site before drilling anything.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Tell us the symptom

Call or fill in the quote form and describe what changed. Warm air, short cycling, a breaker that keeps tripping, water stains on the ceiling. That detail helps us bring the right parts.

  2. Step 2

    We diagnose on site

A technician checks the thermostat, the electrical side, refrigerant performance, airflow and the condensate line. We find the actual cause instead of swapping parts and hoping the problem stays away.

  3. Step 3

    You approve the repair

We explain what failed, what it takes to fix it, and how long the part is likely to last. Nothing gets replaced until you say go, and we test the system before leaving.

Why homeowners call us

  • Built for the salt airCoastal Florida is hard on outdoor equipment. Coils corrode, contactors pit, fan motors seize early. We look for that damage during every air conditioning repair so a small failure does not take the whole system down.
  • Condensate lines we actually clearBy late summer, drain lines clog with algae and shut systems off on the float switch. We clear the line, check the pan and the safety switch, and show you what caused the backup.
  • Heating tooCold snaps still arrive. We do heating repair and heater repair on heat pumps, strip heat and furnace repair where homes have one, so the system works in January as well as August.
  • Plain talk about older systemsIf a repair makes sense, we repair it. If a unit is failing in ways that will keep costing you, we say that too and lay out the options. You decide, not us.
  • All major brands, gas & electricEvery major HVAC brand, gas and electric, handled by an independent crew.
  • Straight answersWhen a replacement beats a repair, we tell you, sometimes before we roll a truck.
