UV Lights & Ventilation

We install and service UV lights and ventilation upgrades inside residential HVAC systems across Florida, usually in the air handler where the coil stays damp all season. Homeowners call us when the vents smell musty, when the coil grows a film every year, or when a closed-up house feels stale and heavy. If that sounds like your home, call us and we will look at the system you have before recommending anything. Sizing and placement matter more than the hardware itself, so we start with the air handler and the ductwork.

What the job involves

A UV installation means mounting a lamp inside the air handler so its light falls on the wet coil and drain pan, then wiring it to a safe power source and sealing the cabinet back up. Ventilation work is different. That can be a fresh air intake, a properly ducted bath or kitchen exhaust, or correcting a return that is pulling air from an attic instead of the house. Both jobs are done with the system off, and we test airflow and operation before we leave.

What we check or install

We open the air handler and look at the coil, the drain pan and the condensate line, because a clogged line and standing water cause more odor complaints than anything else in this climate. We check filter fit, return leaks, duct condition and whether exhaust fans actually vent outside. From there we may install a coil-facing UV lamp, replace a lamp that has aged past its useful output, add a fresh air path, or repair duct connections so the air you filter is the air you breathe.

How we decide it is the right call

UV light is not a fix for a dirty filter, a flooded pan or a duct leak, so we rule those out first. If the coil is clean and the smell is gone once condensate drains properly, you do not need a lamp. We recommend UV when biological growth keeps returning on a coil despite good maintenance, and we recommend ventilation when the house is tight, humid or holding cooking and bathroom moisture. We will tell you plainly when the answer is repair instead of an add-on.

UV Lights & Ventilation — quick answers

Does a UV light replace my air filter?

No. The filter catches particles moving through the system, and a UV lamp targets growth on the wet coil and drain pan. They do different work, and a UV lamp will not help if the filter is loaded.

How often do UV lamps need replacing?

Most lamps lose useful output long before they stop glowing, so they are replaced on a schedule rather than on failure. We check output and age at maintenance visits and tell you when replacement is due.

Will more ventilation make my house more humid?

It can if it is done wrong. Bringing in unconditioned outdoor air in Florida adds moisture, so fresh air has to be controlled and matched to the system. We size and set it up accordingly.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Tell us the symptom

Call or fill in the quote form and describe what changed. Warm air, short cycling, a breaker that keeps tripping, water stains on the ceiling. That detail helps us bring the right parts.

  2. Step 2

    We diagnose on site

A technician checks the thermostat, the electrical side, refrigerant performance, airflow and the condensate line. We find the actual cause instead of swapping parts and hoping the problem stays away.

  3. Step 3

    You approve the repair

We explain what failed, what it takes to fix it, and how long the part is likely to last. Nothing gets replaced until you say go, and we test the system before leaving.

Why homeowners call us

  • Built for the salt airCoastal Florida is hard on outdoor equipment. Coils corrode, contactors pit, fan motors seize early. We look for that damage during every air conditioning repair so a small failure does not take the whole system down.
  • Condensate lines we actually clearBy late summer, drain lines clog with algae and shut systems off on the float switch. We clear the line, check the pan and the safety switch, and show you what caused the backup.
  • Heating tooCold snaps still arrive. We do heating repair and heater repair on heat pumps, strip heat and furnace repair where homes have one, so the system works in January as well as August.
  • Plain talk about older systemsIf a repair makes sense, we repair it. If a unit is failing in ways that will keep costing you, we say that too and lay out the options. You decide, not us.
  • All major brands, gas & electricEvery major HVAC brand, gas and electric, handled by an independent crew.
  • Straight answersWhen a replacement beats a repair, we tell you, sometimes before we roll a truck.
