High-Efficiency Upgrade

A high-efficiency upgrade replaces an aging furnace or air handler with a newer, better-matched heating system, and we do this work for homeowners across the region. Most people call us when their heating repair bills keep stacking up, rooms never even out, or a system has been limping along for fifteen-plus years. The upgrade only pays off if the sizing, ductwork and venting are right, so we measure before we quote. Call us and we will schedule a look at what you have now and what the house actually needs.

What the job involves

We start in the house, not the catalog. We measure the rooms, check insulation, look at duct runs and return sizing, and figure out the BTU load the home actually calls for. Then we remove the old equipment, adjust or replace venting and condensate routing, correct duct connections that leak, and commission the new system so airflow and temperature rise land where they should. Most swaps are a one-day job. Bigger duct corrections or tight closet installs can run into a second day, and we tell you that up front.

What we check and install

We check static pressure, return air volume, filter capacity, existing electrical supply, and the condition of the drain line, because a new system pushed through undersized ducts just gets loud and short-cycles. On the install side that can mean a new furnace or air handler, a properly sized coil, a filter cabinet that holds a thicker media filter, upgraded venting, and a thermostat that matches the equipment staging. In our humid climate we also look hard at drainage and pan condition, since summer condensate never really stops.

How we decide it is the right call

Age, repair history and comfort complaints tell us most of it. If your system is past its expected life, uses a refrigerant that is getting scarce, or has needed the same air conditioning repair twice in two seasons, upgrading usually beats another patch. If it is eight years old with one bad control board, we fix it and say so. We will also tell you when duct work should come first, because new equipment on bad ducts disappoints everybody. You get the honest version either way.

High-Efficiency Upgrade — quick answers

Will a high-efficiency upgrade fix my hot bedroom?

Sometimes. If the cause is airflow, undersized returns or a long duct run, new equipment alone will not solve it. We check the ducts during the assessment and tell you what actually has to change.

Do I need new ductwork with the upgrade?

Not always. We measure static pressure and return capacity first. Many homes need only sealing and a couple of resized branches, while others need a larger return before the new system can breathe properly.

How long does the install take?

Most straightforward replacements finish in one day. If venting, condensate routing or duct corrections are part of the scope, plan on two. We give you the timeline before any work starts.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Tell us the symptom

Call or fill in the quote form and describe what changed. Warm air, short cycling, a breaker that keeps tripping, water stains on the ceiling. That detail helps us bring the right parts.

  2. Step 2

    We diagnose on site

A technician checks the thermostat, the electrical side, refrigerant performance, airflow and the condensate line. We find the actual cause instead of swapping parts and hoping the problem stays away.

  3. Step 3

    You approve the repair

We explain what failed, what it takes to fix it, and how long the part is likely to last. Nothing gets replaced until you say go, and we test the system before leaving.

Why homeowners call us

  • Built for the salt airCoastal Florida is hard on outdoor equipment. Coils corrode, contactors pit, fan motors seize early. We look for that damage during every air conditioning repair so a small failure does not take the whole system down.
  • Condensate lines we actually clearBy late summer, drain lines clog with algae and shut systems off on the float switch. We clear the line, check the pan and the safety switch, and show you what caused the backup.
  • Heating tooCold snaps still arrive. We do heating repair and heater repair on heat pumps, strip heat and furnace repair where homes have one, so the system works in January as well as August.
  • Plain talk about older systemsIf a repair makes sense, we repair it. If a unit is failing in ways that will keep costing you, we say that too and lay out the options. You decide, not us.
  • All major brands, gas & electricEvery major HVAC brand, gas and electric, handled by an independent crew.
  • Straight answersWhen a replacement beats a repair, we tell you, sometimes before we roll a truck.
