Top-rated independent heating and cooling across South Florida

Electric Furnace Repair

We repair electric furnaces and electric heat strips in homes across Florida, and if yours is blowing cool air or tripping a breaker, call us and we will schedule a look. Electric heating repair usually means a failed heating element, a burned sequencer, a bad contactor or a limit switch that keeps cutting out. Before you call, check the thermostat setting and batteries, look for a tripped breaker, and swap a loaded filter. Leave the wiring and the high-voltage side to us.

What Electric Furnace Repair Involves

An electric furnace heats by pushing air across resistance elements, so a repair is mostly about finding which part of that chain stopped working. We confirm the thermostat is calling for heat, then test at the equipment to see whether the elements are energising and whether the blower is moving enough air across them. Airflow matters more than people expect. A clogged filter or a closed-off return can overheat elements and trip the high limit again and again until the real cause is fixed.

What We Check and Replace

We test heating elements for continuity, check sequencers that stage the elements on, and inspect the contactor, fuses and disconnect for heat damage or corrosion. Coastal air across the region is hard on terminals and cabinet screws, so we look for pitting and loose connections that cause intermittent heat. We also check the blower motor, capacitor and wheel, since weak airflow is behind many limit trips. Replacement parts are matched to your unit, and we retest at the panel before we leave.

How We Decide Repair Is the Right Call

We look at what failed, what it cost you in comfort, and what the rest of the equipment looks like. One burned sequencer on a mid-life air handler is a straightforward repair. Multiple failed elements, a scorched cabinet, corroded wiring and a blower on its way out is a different conversation, and we will lay out both paths with what each one gets you. If the heat side and the cooling side share the air handler, we factor that in too.

Electric Furnace Repair — quick answers

Why does my electric furnace trip the breaker?

Usually a shorted heating element, a stuck sequencer or a failing blower motor drawing too much current. Reset the breaker once. If it trips again, stop and call us, because repeated resets can damage wiring.

Can an electric furnace still work if the AC side is broken?

Often yes, since heat strips and the cooling coil are separate parts of one air handler. But both depend on the same blower, so a blower failure takes out heating and air conditioning together.

How do I know if it is the element or the thermostat?

Set the thermostat above room temperature and listen for the blower. If air moves but stays cool, the element or sequencer is the likely fault. If nothing happens, thermostat or control power comes first.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Tell us the symptom

Call or fill in the quote form and describe what changed. Warm air, short cycling, a breaker that keeps tripping, water stains on the ceiling. That detail helps us bring the right parts.

  2. Step 2

    We diagnose on site

A technician checks the thermostat, the electrical side, refrigerant performance, airflow and the condensate line. We find the actual cause instead of swapping parts and hoping the problem stays away.

  3. Step 3

    You approve the repair

We explain what failed, what it takes to fix it, and how long the part is likely to last. Nothing gets replaced until you say go, and we test the system before leaving.

Why homeowners call us

  • Built for the salt airCoastal Florida is hard on outdoor equipment. Coils corrode, contactors pit, fan motors seize early. We look for that damage during every air conditioning repair so a small failure does not take the whole system down.
  • Condensate lines we actually clearBy late summer, drain lines clog with algae and shut systems off on the float switch. We clear the line, check the pan and the safety switch, and show you what caused the backup.
  • Heating tooCold snaps still arrive. We do heating repair and heater repair on heat pumps, strip heat and furnace repair where homes have one, so the system works in January as well as August.
  • Plain talk about older systemsIf a repair makes sense, we repair it. If a unit is failing in ways that will keep costing you, we say that too and lay out the options. You decide, not us.
  • All major brands, gas & electricEvery major HVAC brand, gas and electric, handled by an independent crew.
  • Straight answersWhen a replacement beats a repair, we tell you, sometimes before we roll a truck.
