Whole-Home Humidifiers

We install and service whole-home humidifiers that tie into your HVAC system and add moisture to the air in every room, and we do that work for homeowners across Florida. Most calls come in winter, when a heat pump or furnace has been running for days and you notice cracked wood trim, static shocks, dry throats, or a nosebleed in the morning. Call us and describe what the house feels like and which rooms are worst. We will look at your ductwork and humidity readings before we recommend anything.

What the job involves

A whole-home humidifier mounts on the supply or return side of your air handler and feeds off a small water line. We cut and seal the opening, hang the unit, run the water supply and drain, wire the control, and set the humidistat so it only runs when the heat is calling. Then we measure relative humidity in a few rooms to confirm the setting is doing what we said it would. Service visits are usually a pad or panel change, a drain flush, and a check of the water valve.

What we check or install

Before we quote anything, we take humidity readings, look at your return air capacity, and check the water access near the air handler. Bypass models need a duct run to work with. Steam and fan-powered units need power and a bit more room. On a service call we pull the evaporator pad, look for scale from hard water, clear the drain, test the solenoid valve, and verify the humidistat is reading the air and not a warm spot in the duct.

How we decide it is the right call

Humidity below the low thirties for weeks is the trigger, not a single dry day. In much of Florida the air is wet enough that a humidifier is the wrong answer and a better filter or a dehumidifier setting is what you actually need. We measure first. If the readings do not support it, we tell you so. Homes with wood floors, a piano, or someone with persistent sinus trouble in heating season are the ones where the numbers usually justify the install.

Whole-Home Humidifiers — quick answers

Does a whole-home humidifier work with a heat pump?

Yes. We wire it to run on a call for heat, and with a heat pump that means longer, cooler air cycles. We set the humidistat accordingly so the unit is not adding moisture when the system is idle.

How often does the pad need changing?

Once a heating season for most homes, sooner if your water is hard and the pad scales up. We check it on any service visit and can swap it while we are there.

Will it cause mold or window condensation?

It can if the setting is too high. We tune the humidistat to the house and the outdoor temperature, and if you see fog on the windows, call us and we will lower it.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Tell us the symptom

Call or fill in the quote form and describe what changed. Warm air, short cycling, a breaker that keeps tripping, water stains on the ceiling. That detail helps us bring the right parts.

  2. Step 2

    We diagnose on site

A technician checks the thermostat, the electrical side, refrigerant performance, airflow and the condensate line. We find the actual cause instead of swapping parts and hoping the problem stays away.

  3. Step 3

    You approve the repair

We explain what failed, what it takes to fix it, and how long the part is likely to last. Nothing gets replaced until you say go, and we test the system before leaving.

Why homeowners call us

  • Built for the salt airCoastal Florida is hard on outdoor equipment. Coils corrode, contactors pit, fan motors seize early. We look for that damage during every air conditioning repair so a small failure does not take the whole system down.
  • Condensate lines we actually clearBy late summer, drain lines clog with algae and shut systems off on the float switch. We clear the line, check the pan and the safety switch, and show you what caused the backup.
  • Heating tooCold snaps still arrive. We do heating repair and heater repair on heat pumps, strip heat and furnace repair where homes have one, so the system works in January as well as August.
  • Plain talk about older systemsIf a repair makes sense, we repair it. If a unit is failing in ways that will keep costing you, we say that too and lay out the options. You decide, not us.
  • All major brands, gas & electricEvery major HVAC brand, gas and electric, handled by an independent crew.
  • Straight answersWhen a replacement beats a repair, we tell you, sometimes before we roll a truck.
